Welcome to our latest product update! Read on to discover what’s new at Prolific, including updates on custom screening, multi-factor authentication, exciting new partnerships, and more.
Custom screening is now widely available
Custom screening is now available to all Prolific users.
We offer hundreds of prescreening filters that help you recruit the participants you need. But if you have niche or specific criteria, custom screening lets you add your own in-study screening questions, using branching logic in your survey tool.
With custom screening, you can now:
- Define more precise study-specific screening criteria.
- Automate participant submissions and screening.
- Speed up your research by collecting more relevant data.

Multi-factor authentication for better security
Your account’s security is paramount to us. We’re enhancing it further by introducing multi-factor authentication (MFA), replacing our previous email 2-factor authentication (2FA).
MFA adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring two or more verification factors to sign in to an account, protecting your account from unauthorized access. When you use MFA on Prolific, you will have access to:
- Time-based one-time passwords (TOTP) generated by an authenticator app.
- Account recovery codes to regain access to your account in case you lose access to your TOTP device.

A brand new ‘Home’
We've revamped your Home page in the Prolific app to provide a more intuitive and engaging user experience. The new design focuses on simpler navigation and a cleaner look that makes it easier to navigate to your tools and helpful resources!
